NYC

As if I needed one more television addiction (Prison 'Wentworth Miller' Break, Lost, Desperate Housewives, and House). Now, thanks to Steve, I have a RETRO-tv addiction, Tales from the City. It's brilliant. I've spent the last seven hours on my couch, moving only to change the tape.  Between tape #2 and tape #3, I briefly considered stopping and saving the last one for tomorrow (I love having something to look forward to), but that thought lasted only as long as it took me to press 'eject'.

Let's see ..what else ..

Oh! Oh! The Olympics! The Winter Games start in 39 days!! It's pointless for me to try to explain how I feel about the Olympics; it's just too much.  Wait - here's something: I remember setting my alarm clock for 3am when the Games were in Seoul so I could watch the events 'live'.  I hate sports, but I LOVE the Olympics. This year, I'm keeping my eye on my little rebel Apolo Ohno and my baby princess Michelle Kwan. I've been following that woman's career since she was 12 - PLEASE let her win a gold this time!

I didn't post about Christmas or New Year's because this year is just too bittersweet to describe.  I can neither grasp or bear the idea that the next time I see my niece & nephew for the holidays, they may be taller than me and greeting me in a field in southern Africa wearing brightly-colored caftans and headwear (...laughter through tears, right Steve??)

The week with Apex was better than I even hoped it would be. I smacked myself like it was my job while learning Michelle's beautiful work, but it's all good.  After our first beginning-to-end run through, I seriously thought I was gonna cry. Dag ... and the season's just started!
